Visitors get first look at new showhome at Lavender Rise development in Axbridge
The showhome at the new Lavender Rise development in Axbridge has been opened to the public at a launch event.
Homebuilder Bellway is building 53 properties in the Somerset town, and on Saturday 18 January the public were invited in to take a look around the showhome which is in the homebuilder’s Weaver style – a four-bedroom detached house.
A food van was on hand at the event to provide crepes and hot chocolate to guests.
Visitors also had the opportunity to visit the House to Home plot on site, which is a property that is part-finished to display a home at different stages of completion. The house is in the Lorimer design which is also a four-bedroom property. Other plots were also available to view on the day.
Rachel Way, Bellway South West Senior Sales Manager, said: “Saturday’s event was a great opportunity for visitors to find out more about Lavender Rise and the quality of the homes we are building here. With sweet treats on offer, it made for a pleasant occasion and a chance for people to chat to our advisors about the available plots.
“People enjoyed looking around our showhome. Seeing a newly interior-designed and decorated home allows people to visualise what it would be like to live in a Bellway home more easily and imagine how it could work for them.
“The House to Home plot showed the care and attention that goes into our new homes and customers were able to see elements and features there that are not visible once the house is all complete.
“Work is progressing well at Lavender Rise and in fact, the first residents will be moving in here in spring.
“The development also offers a valuable opportunity in terms of affordability because 15 of the properties are shared ownership homes. It’s a great chance to get on the housing ladder for customers who cannot afford to purchase the property they want outright.”
The shared ownership properties are being delivered in partnership with housing provider Heylo through its Home Reach Shared Ownership scheme. These include one-bedroom maisonettes and two to four-bedroom houses.
Prices at Lavender Rise, off Houlgate Way, currently start from £197,500 for a one-bedroom maisonette in Bellway’s Stationer style.
