Ashberry Homes sparks creativity at Keldmarsh Primary School

Ashberry Homes brought a splash of Easter colour to Keldmarsh Primary School after donating art supplies for a school-wide creative competition.

Pupils were challenged to design an ‘Easter Fun World’ and choose where it would sit in Beverley. The results were bursting with imagination, from bright illustrations to carefully crafted models. Many designs took inspiration from Westwood, with the much-loved Black Mill appearing as a centrepiece.

With so many standout entries, judging was no easy task. A panel made up of Keldmarsh teachers Mrs Adamson and Miss Cartwright, alongside Ashberry Homes sales advisor Cathy Roebuck and assistant site manager Dennis Oates, selected a winner from each year group before choosing an overall favourite. The top prize went to Isaac B in Year 1, whose artwork perfectly captured the spirit of the brief.

Cathy, who works at Ashberry Homes’ nearby Pilgrim’s Way development, said: “We wanted the children to explore design in a real-world setting, but in a way that felt fun and creative. The standard was incredible and every entry brought something different.”

She added: “Isaac’s artwork was so bright and joyful – it really summed up Easter.”

Isaac’s winning design will be displayed at the Pilgrim’s Way sales office throughout the Easter holidays.

Set in a picturesque location off Woodmansey Mile, just a short walk from Beverley town centre and the Minster, Pilgrim’s Way will feature 114 two, three and four-bedroom homes when complete. More than 75% have already been sold, with current prices ranging from £279,995 for a three-bedroom semi-detached Orchid to £484,995 for a four-bedroom detached family home.

Miss Caldwell, teacher and art lead at Keldmarsh Primary School, said: “Pilgrim’s Way offers a real mix of home styles and sizes, designed to suit all kinds of buyers. That’s exactly what we wanted the children to reflect by creating an Easter Fun World with something for everyone.”

She added: “The effort and creativity on display made us incredibly proud – and who knows, we might have a future designer or two in the classroom.”
