Bellway homes take shape at High Leigh Grange in Hoddesdon

Building work is progressing at Bellway’s High Leigh Grange development in Hoddesdon, where construction of the first properties is due to be finished in September.

The 154-home development represents the final residential component of the wider High Leigh Garden Village project, which is delivering more than 500 homes and a range of community facilities to the west of the town.

High Leigh Grange sits within the southern part of the wider scheme, on land to the south of Dinant Link Road and east of the A10. It will feature a range of energy efficient properties with solar PV panels, smart heating thermostats and electric vehicle charging points, alongside areas of public open space and two children’s play areas.

Work is well underway on properties in the northern part of High Leigh Grange, and the site welcomed visitors for the first time on 6 June as homes were released onto the market. Three showhomes are due be unveiled in September and initial homes are set to be occupied by the end of the year.

As part of the planning agreement for the development, Bellway is to provide funding of more than £277,000 for local services and infrastructure. Contributions will include £133,000 for education, £118,750 towards town centre improvements, £7,231 for the fire and rescue service, and £4,611 towards local libraries.

High Leigh Grange will comprise 123 homes for private sale, ranging from two to five-bedroom houses, and 31 affordable homes for low-cost rent or shared ownership.
