The first visitors have been welcomed to Bellway’s new Tiger Moth Fields development in the Wiltshire village of Lyneham. The first visitors have been welcomed to Bellway’s new Tiger Moth Fields development in the Wiltshire village of Lyneham.
Bellway is building 200 new homes at Tiger Moth Fields and is also set to contribute more than £800,000 of investment into services and infrastructure for the area as part of the planning agreement for the development.
The site opened to the public on Saturday 7 March and a series of computer-generated images of street scenes and house styles have also been released to show what the new homes will look like when they are built.
Bellway South West Sales Manager Christel Hawkins said: “Construction work at Tiger Moth Fields is going well and we were pleased to be able to welcome our first visitors to the site.
“This is a major project to provide high-quality homes for the area. It’s set to be a much sought-after neighbourhood because of the range of homes and their location in a rural setting, yet just a 15-minute drive from the M4, and 10 miles from Swindon.
“The development itself has been thoughtfully planned with sustainability at its heart and with wonderful public open spaces for children to play and for everyone to enjoy getting outside and enjoying their surroundings.”
Building work started at Tiger Moth Fields at the end of last year with more than 20 plots currently under construction. The first homes are expected to be completed this summer.
Bellway will contribute around £831,000 towards local services as part of the planning agreement for the project, including £757,020 for secondary education, £55,200 for off-site playing fields, £18,200 for waste and recycling, and £1,132 for air quality monitoring.
The plans for Tiger Moth Fields include a children’s play area, a multi-use games area and buildings for a new nursery and business units.
Two showhomes are due to open in April and they will be the Goldsmith and Weaver house styles which are both four-bedroom properties.
In addition, a four-bedroom Bowyer house will be opened as a view home – a completed but empty property that allows visitors to get a feel for what the place is like without the décor and furniture inside.
The properties at Tiger Moth Fields will include 120 private homes ranging from three to five-bedroom houses, and 80 affordable properties.
All properties will have access to an electric vehicle charging point and the majority will have solar panels. 100 homes will be heated by all-electric air source heat pumps.
Among the affordable homes are some two and three-bedroom houses for shared ownership, which are being sold by Bellway through Heylo Home Reach, with 50 per cent shares available from £147,500 (full price £295,000) and £165,000 (full price £330,000) respectively.
There’s also a choice of three and four-bedroom homes for private sale, with prices from £379,000 and £435,000.
