Bellway has paid the first £592,663 of financial contributions towards local infrastructure as part of its new Highwoods View development in Bexhill-on-Sea, which is now open to the public.

Bellway has paid the first £592,663 of financial contributions towards local infrastructure as part of its new Highwoods View development in Bexhill-on-Sea, which is now open to the public.

The housebuilder is committed to investing a total of more than £1.7 million into the local area through the Community Infrastructure Levy and the planning agreement for Highwoods View, where work started last year.

The first of these payments have been made, including £97,900 towards improving bus services in the area.

The development will see 89 new homes built off Turkey Road. The first of these is the four-bedroom Pargeter showhome, which was opened to visitors on Saturday 30 May.

Alongside 58 two, three and four-bedroom homes for private sale, Bellway will also be providing 27 affordable homes for local people, available through affordable rent, shared ownership or the First Homes discount scheme, plus four self-build plots.

Fiona Mitchell, Sales Manager for Bellway Southern Counties, said: “Work is progressing at pace at Highwoods View, with the showhome and sales centre now open on site.

“We have also made the first financial contributions to the local community as part of the development, with the first Community Infrastructure Levy instalment of £484,818 now paid and additional contributions made towards bus services, traffic regulations and monitoring costs.

“We are also carrying out works to improve nearby footpaths and will be installing a new bus stop on Turkey Road. In September we will begin work on the new public open space within the development, which will include a children’s play area.

“We saw a great deal of interest in the development over the opening weekend. Visitors were particularly keen to find out more about the energy-efficient features the of properties we are building here, which include solar PV panels, smart thermostats and electric vehicle charging points.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming the first residents into their new homes in Autumn and expect to complete construction work at the development by the summer of next year.”

There’s currently a choice of two, three and four-bedroom homes available to reserve at Highwoods View, with prices starting from £315,000. For more information, visit https://www.bellway.co.uk/new-homes/southern-counties/highwoods-view or call the sales team on 01424 541313.
