Bellway buys chocolate treats for Easter egg hunt at Bacton Primary School
A local housebuilder laid the foundations for a fun-filled Easter egg hunt at Bacton Primary School.
Bellway Eastern Counties, which is building new homes at its Ivy Hill development in the village, donated 120 chocolate eggs as well as colouring books and crayons for the event on Friday 28 March.
The children at the school, in Taylors Green, were invited to take part in the Easter egg hunt class by class.
They were challenged to find a laminated picture of an egg with their name on, hidden in the playground.
Once every child had found their card, the class was challenged to find lettered cards, also concealed in the playground, and to solve a simple anagram, which spelled out ‘Happy Easter’.After the hunt, the children were given colouring books and crayons to play with.
Sarah King, Co-Executive/Vice Principal of Bacton and Mendlesham Primary Schools, said: “We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Bellway for its generous donation of Easter eggs, crayons, and colouring books.
“Its support has made it possible for us to run our school Easter egg competition for free, bringing joy and creativity to our children. We are deeply grateful to Bellway for its kindness and community spirit.”
Marrissa Gale, Sales Manager at Bellway Eastern Counties, said: “This is the second year in a row that we have sponsored the Easter egg hunt at Bacton Primary School. At Bellway, we strive to reach out and form meaningful relationships with local organisations and our ongoing connection with the school, which is just down the road from our Ivy Hill development, is evidence of that.
“It was lovely to see that the children all really enjoyed the hunt and also had fun with the colouring books and crayons we provided. Our donation meant that every pupil in the school got a free Easter egg, which is guaranteed to put a smile on the face of any youngster.”
Bellway is building 85 new homes at Ivy Hill. The development, off Birch Avenue, will also include public open space, a children’s play area and land for a community building.
