Bellway’s £1,000 donation helps Bacton Under Fives with plans to put in new fencing
Bacton Under Fives childcare group has received a £1,000 donation from local homebuilder Bellway towards its project to replace the fencing at its premises at The Playcentre on Tailor’s Green in Bacton.
Bellway is building new homes at Ivy Hill in Bacton, less than half a mile away from the group’s base.
The pre-school wants to put in new perimeter fencing because it was installed when the setting was built in 2010 and required updating. It will cost £5000 in total and so the Bellway donation has helped get the group nearer to their target.
Hollie Harrington, Committee Chair from Bacton Under Fives said: “We are really grateful for Bellway’s donation towards our new fencing. It will make such a difference in helping us to reach our fundraising targets. We are a charity run setting, so any help is always gratefully received, and Bellway have been extremely generous.”
Bacton Under Fives has been going for more than 40 years, having developed from a mother and toddler group that was set up in 1978. The group provides care for children aged from three months to four years and 11 months. It also offers out-of-school care for five to 11-year-olds before and after school and during school holidays.
Marrissa Gale, Sales Manager for Bellway Eastern Counties, said: “As Bacton Under Fives is such a short distance from Ivy Hill, some of the families who come to live in the new homes we are building may benefit from the childcare services they offer.
“We are also keen to make connections and build relationships with the community around our new developments, so when we heard that we could help such a long-established pre-school group, we were keen to get involved.
“We are happy to have given the group a good start on raising the sum they need for the new fencing.”
