Bellway’s Kingsmere Park development is a finalist at two awards events

Bellway’s Kingsmere Park development in West Parley has been shortlisted for two housebuilding awards.

The development was a finalist in the Residential Development of the Year category at the Insider South West Residential Property Awards, which were announced at the Mercure Bristol Grand Hotel in Bristol on Thursday 24 April.

The site has also been shortlisted in the same category for The Business Magazine South Coast Property Awards, with the ceremony to be held on Thursday 12 June at the Hilton Utilita Bowl in Southampton.

Graeme Cole, Sales Director for Bellway Wessex, said: “Kingsmere Park is an exceptional sustainable development which is delivering 386 new homes alongside 54 acres of public open space, including four play zones and allotments, in West Parley.

“It has been designed not just as a place to live, but a neighbourhood which focuses on wellbeing, social space and active living, reflecting Bellway’s overarching Better with Bellway strategy, which puts people and the planet first.

“We have an excellent site team in place at Kingsmere Park, with our Site Manager Dave Murnane winning a Seal of Excellence from the National House Building Council (NHBC) in 2024 and assistant site manager Matthew Griffiths being named the NHBC’s Construction Site Supervisor Apprentice of the Year earlier this year.

“It is incredibly rewarding for Kingsmere Park to have been shortlisted for these two prestigious Residential Development of the Year awards. It is fantastic that the hard work of everyone involved in the development has been recognised in this way.”

A range of one and two-bedroom apartments and two to four-bedroom houses are being built at Kingsmere Park, including 78 affordable homes for local people, which have been prioritised within the first phase of construction.

The first of two Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspaces (the eastern SANG) is already open, providing 39 acres of accessible space for dog-walkers and wildlife alike, while the western SANG will offer a large play area and village green in 15 acres of parkland.
