Bellway set to deliver new homes in East Lothian
Bellway Scotland East is set to deliver more than 200 new energy efficient homes at Prestonpans.
The housebuilder has been granted planning permission to develop 217 new homes, 152 for private sale and 65 affordable properties, as an extension of its existing Prince’s Gate development in the growing community of Blindwells.
Located centrally within the new town, the new phase will feature two and three bedroom terrace and semi-detached homes and three, four and five bedroom detached properties.
The affordable homes will include one and two bedroom cottage flats, two, three and four bedroom semi-detached and terraced properties.
One of East Lothian’s most ancient towns, the site is close to the historic battlefield where Bonnie Prince Charlie defeated the government’s army and is part of a vibrant new community. On completion Blindwells will feature new educational facilities, a healthcare hub, retail outlets and social housing.
Lynn Pringle, Sales Director for Bellway Scotland East, said: “In just a matter of a few years Blindwells has transformed from a greenbelt site into a thriving new community with significant infrastructure and space planning to create a contemporary environment for people to live.
“Blindwells is definitely a destination of choice for people seeing affordable new homes within easy reach of the capital and we’re confident that clients will enjoy the mix of new properties we will have on offer.”
Construction work is expected to start in the summer.
Prince’s Gate Phase 1 currently offers a choice of three bedroom terrace and detached homes and four bedroom properties with prices from £245,995 to £432,995.
