Bellway staff deliver Easter eggs to children’s ward at East Surrey Hospital

Young patients on the children’s ward at East Surrey Hospital in Redhill received an Easter treat courtesy of a local housebuilder.

Three staff members from Bellway South London, whose divisional office is located in the town, visited the hospital to deliver approximately 60 chocolate eggs collected from their colleagues.

The collective act of generosity was the idea of Bellway South London’s management team, who decided it would be a nice way of putting smiles on the faces of poorly children this Easter.

Lorna Springer, PA to Bellway South London’s Managing Director Rob Sapsford, said: “After the management team came up with the suggestion of making an Easter egg donation to a local hospital, we selected East Surrey as it is a major hospital with a children’s ward just a couple of miles away from our divisional office.

“We sent out an email to all of our staff, including those based at our South London office and those working on site, asking if they could purchase an Easter egg and bring it into the office. We were delighted to collect a lovely assortment of Easter eggs including gluten and nut-free options.

Janine, Senior Health Play Specialist at East Surrey Hospital, said: “It was lovely seeing the team from Bellway. The Easter eggs have been a great hit and have already put smiles on patients faces. Thank you to Bellway for the kind donation. Happy Easter from all the paediatric staff at East Surrey Hospital.”
