Bellway to invest more than £2 million in Baldwins Gate area as part of new housing development

Bellway is investing more than £2 million towards improving facilities in and around the Staffordshire village of Baldwins Gate as part of the construction of 200 new homes.

The housebuilder is building 150 homes for private sale and 50 affordable homes at Baldwins Gate Grange, on a 32-acre site off Newcastle Road.

As part of the planning agreement for the development, Bellway is contributing £732,900 towards Baldwins Gate Primary School, £720,780 to nearby Madeley High School, £124,000 towards local healthcare and £100,000 towards a multi-use games area (MUGA) within the vicinity of the development.

The company will also be providing £383,246 towards additional morning and evening peak hour bus services between Market Drayton and Newcastle-under-Lyme. One annual bus pass will be made available for the first occupier of each home at Baldwins Gate Grange.

Marie Richards, Sales Director for Bellway West Midlands, said: “Baldwins Gate Grange is a sustainable and attractive new development which will provide a range of much-needed, high-quality and energy-efficient new homes in a variety of sizes and styles to meet the specific requirements of the housing market in this area.

“A quarter of the homes we are building are designated as affordable properties, available through low-cost rent or shared ownership, to help local people to secure a home close to family and friends.

“We are also making significant investments in supporting some of the most important local services and infrastructure in the area.

“By providing more than £1.4 million funding for education, and additional funding for healthcare, bus services, and sports facilities, we are helping to make the area a place that people will want to live and put down roots and somewhere where families will want to stay.”

Baldwins Gate Grange will also see the creation of 13 acres of new public open space within the development site, including community parkland, allotments, a community orchard and a children’s natural play area, which will be available for new and existing residents in the village to use.

Marie said: “Baldwins Gate Grange clearly demonstrates how the building of new homes can bring benefits for the whole community.

“The construction of the project is also bringing economic benefits, creating jobs and support for local supply chain businesses, while the new residents will bring additional spending within the local economy as they move in.”

There’s currently a selection of two, three and four-bedroom homes available to reserve at Baldwins Gate Grange, with prices starting from £260,000. To find out more, visit https://www.bellway.co.uk/new-homes/west-midlands/baldwins-gate-grange or call the sales team on 01782 491796.
