Pupils design cards to welcome new residents to Wimblington development

Artistic schoolchildren in Wimblington have created designs for cards to welcome new residents to a development in the village.
Bellway Eastern Counties, which is building new homes at Primrose Grove, off March Road, challenged pupils at Thomas Eaton Primary Academy to draw an image of a home or street at the development.
The team at the housebuilder picked a number of winning designs which were then used to create printed cards. These have been put through the letterboxes of new residents at Primrose Grove.
James Harfield, Executive Deputy Headteacher at Thomas Eaton Primary Academy, said: “It was a privilege for our pupils to be asked to create the designs and we had many enthusiastic artists wanting to participate.
The winning designs were wonderful and we hope that they will be enjoyed by new residents in the village.”
Mia Roussos, Sales Director at Bellway Eastern Counties, said: “As a company, we always strive to engage with the local community in the places where we build and it is lovely to make a real connection with the staff and pupils at Thomas Eaton Primary Academy.
“We thought the children would enjoy taking part in an art project to think about their village and the new homes being built here.
"The variety and quality of the artwork that the youngsters produced was excellent and made the job of choosing winning entries a very difficult one.
“The images we’ve chosen have been used to create a number of bespoke cards to welcome our customers into their new homes. The feedback we have received from the new residents is that the cards are much appreciated and bring a smile to their faces.”
