Two showhomes have been opened to the public at Bellway’s Libbets Grange development in Crediton, Devon.
Visitors were able to explore the three-bedroom semi-detached Thespian and four-bedroom detached Goldsmith showhomes during the launch event on Saturday 11 October, when the first homes went on sale.
As part of the development plan, Bellway is to allocate a 21-acre parcel of land in the north east of the site for the relocation of Crediton Rugby Club. And the décor of one of the showhomes features a nod to this with a rugby-themed bedroom.
Rachel Way, Senior Sales Manager for Bellway South West, said: “These showhomes are the first properties to be completed at Libbets Grange and will therefore give potential customers a chance to see the quality and style of our homes at first hand.
“The Thespian and Goldsmith house styles showcase some of the architectural features - such as stone arches and cills - that have been incorporated into the design of the homes at Libbets Grange to ensure that the development reflects the character of existing buildings in Crediton and the surrounding villages.
“We have a wide range of property styles planned for Libbets Grange, from two-bedroom flats and terraced properties to three-bedroom semi-detached and four-bedroom detached family houses. This diverse mix of homes will enable the development to cater for people at different life stages and with varying requirements.
“In addition to the new homes, Libbets Grange is also bringing other benefits to the local community, including investment in services, the land for Crediton Rugby Club’s relocation and for a new primary school.”
Bellway started work on construction this year following the granting of planning permission last November, and the first residents are expected to move in at the 257-home development in January.
Located on land to the north of Old Tiverton Road, the development will provide 201 homes for private sale ranging from two to five-bedroom houses, and 56 affordable homes for low-cost rent or shared ownership ranging from one-bedroom apartments to four-bedroom houses.
As part of the planning agreement, Bellway has committed to investing £2 million in health, education and travel. It will allocate 2.7 acres in the south-western part of the site for a new primary school and a 21-acre plot for the rugby club.
The development will include children’s play areas, footpaths and cycleways. To support biodiversity there will be a wildflower-rich grassland and native woodland belts.
A range of two, three and four-bedroom houses are currently available at Libbets Grange, with prices starting from £247,000.
