Bellway starts work on 210-home development as part of new Fairham neighbourhood in Nottingham

Bellway has completed the acquisition of land at Fairham, south of Nottingham, and started work on a development of 210 new homes.
The company’s East Midlands division is building the homes as part of a new neighbourhood being created next to the A453, five miles south of the city centre, which will bring 3,000 new homes, a new primary school, neighbourhood centre, business park and 33 acres of sports pitches and recreational space.
Bellway is to deliver 189 two, three and four-bedroom properties for private sale and 21 one, two and three-bedroom affordable homes on phase two of the wider project.
The housebuilder is creating two developments on the site – Torvill Park, which is being built under the company’s Bellway brand, and Beaumont Field, to be built under the Ashberry Homes brand.
All homes at the two developments will have solar PV panels and electric vehicle charging points and two new play areas will be created.
Steve Smith, Sales Director for Bellway East Midlands, said: “Our Torvill Park and Beaumont Field developments will deliver 210 high-quality new homes for Nottingham. There will be a mix of properties to help meet the area’s diverse housing needs and to create a sustainable and inclusive community. The energy-efficient designs and inclusion of green technologies such as solar PV panels will help residents to minimise their energy bills and their carbon footprints.
“We worked closely with Rushcliffe Borough Council during the design process to ensure that the appearance of the new homes would reflect the existing architecture in the local area, as well as Fairham’s strict design code.
“Our team has carefully incorporated green outdoor space into both developments, with tree-planting and wildlife habitats, while ensuring that that the streets are pedestrian friendly to encourage car-free travel. Footpaths, cycleways, and pedestrian links will also be created to provide connections to the wider community.
“We are proud to be playing a role in the development of Fairham – a brand-new suburb which will create an attractive and sustainable community in a well-connected location just five miles from the centre of Nottingham.”
Fairham is being delivered through a long-term public-private partnership between Homes England and Clowes Developments. Once complete, the development will bring thousands of new homes, jobs, and investment to Nottingham.
Strategically located on the city’s southern edge, Fairham boasts excellent transport links and is set to become a vibrant hub for both living and working.
Robert Hepwood, Director at Clowes Developments, said: “Bellway’s progress at Fairham marks another important step in delivering the ambitious vision we share for this new community. Their commitment to high-quality design, sustainability and placemaking aligns strongly with our long-term aspirations for Fairham.
“Seeing activity onsite is hugely encouraging and demonstrates the momentum behind creating a vibrant, well-connected neighbourhood that will bring lasting benefits to Nottingham and surrounding neighbourhoods.”
