Fergus O’Boyle, who works for Bellway, completed the challenge alongside his sister Lorraine. They travelled from Delhi and spent five days trekking through forest landscapes, passing remote villages and isolated Buddhist monasteries. The 11-day trip also included a guided visit to Dharamsala, home of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
A keen walker, Fergus prepared for the challenge with dedicated training, including climbing Ben Nevis before setting off on the expedition.
Fergus said: “I love camping and hiking, so this really was a dream trip for me – even though my sister hadn’t done any walks like this before.
“Each day we climbed to around 3,000 metres, surrounded by incredible scenery. Coming across remote villages felt like stepping back in time.
“The whole trip was brilliantly organised and I’d love to do it again. I’m hugely grateful to everyone who sponsored me, and I’m proud that all the money raised will go directly to the Bowelbabe Fund.”
Fergus lives near Whitburn and works at Bellway’s Howford Park development in Crookston, Glasgow.
